This unit takes the single products and places them on top of each other at a defined degree of overlapping. The star wheel has a special design to handle even complicated shaped products within the traces of the wheel. The products are also kept in position during the rotation, so that there is no uncontrolled movement, turning or shifting inside the star wheel transport. There is no need to change or readjust the star wheel when changing format length; only mechanical side adjustment is necessary for products of different widths. The star wheel is also automatically synchronized to the format length of the product and driven by a separate servo, so no gear change is necessary for different formats.
